“From the minute I met Greg, I could just tell he was a kind and caring person. He put me at ease right away. He’s a real down-to-earth human being.”
Veronica Smith

Veronica Smith

Veronica Smith had three of her nine children in the car with her when her van was hit by a drunk driver. The children, all girls, were 9 years old, 6 years old and 8 months old. The other vehicle came out of a driveway and hit the Smith van as it was traveling down the highway.

The force of the collision drove the van off the road and flipped it in the air. It landed right-side up, facing the road. Everyone in the van was shaken up. The vehicle was totaled. Veronica and her daughters were taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries.

As the healing process began, Smith sought the help of an attorney.

The first lawyer she contacted connected her with Greg Zeuthen. “From the minute I met Greg,” she recalled, “I could just tell he was a kind and caring person. He put me at ease right away. He’s a real down-to-earth human being.”

Settlement obtained.

The settlement Zeuthen obtained for Smith and her daughters took care of their medical bills and allowed Smith and her husband to replace the family van. Most of all, Smith is thankful to Zeuthen for using some of the money to set up individual bank accounts for each of the injured children, money that will be available to each when she turns 18. Smith said the care and thoughtfulness of Zeuthen, to set up the accounts, is what she’ll remember the most about him.

“He made the kids feel they were really important,” said Smith. “He wanted to make sure they got something out of the collision because he knew they’d each been through a lot. When they get their money out of their bank accounts, they’re going to know Greg cared about them.”

Smith says she’s already referred Zeuthen to a friend, “My friend got into a car crash about a year after mine, and I told her to call Greg.”
